A wonderful authentic mountains jersey from the 1975 Tour of Austria.
The Tour of Austria, or Internationale Österreich Rundfahrt as it is also known, is a stage race held in Austria. From 1949 until 1995 it was an amateur race and in 1996 it became a professional race.
Austrian rider Wolfgang Steinmayr won the race 4 times in 1972, 1973, 1975 and 1976. With four wins he still holds the record for the most wins of the Tour of Austria.
Steinmayr had a very successful 1975 Tour of Austria. He not only won the overall race, but he also won the mountains classification, Stage 9, and placed top 5 in both the points and sprint categories.
