Gerrit  Solleveld, from the Netherlands, was a member of the winning amateur team in the 100km Team Time Trial at the 1982 Road World Championships in Goodwood, Great Britan. Solleveld went on to have a successful professional career from 1984-1992.  He won stages of the Tour de France in both 1985 & 1990, he won the Red Jersey (Intermediate Sprints Classification) in 1986 Tour de France and won Gent-Wevelgem in 1989.

This jersey was purchased directly from the Augusto Gotti family and was part of the collection in the legendary Bar Augusto in Villa d’Alme, Italy.  Bar Augusto was a key host to professional and amateur cycling teams from the 1960s through the 1980s.
