Gelati Sanson Campagnolo team jersey sporting the classic green of this Italian cycling team. The Gelati Sanson Campagnolo team will forever be associated with Italian rider Francesco Moser.
Moser nicknamed ‘Lo Sceriffo’ or the Sheriff, had an amazing career riding for the Gelati Sanson Campagnolo Team from 1976 to 1985. Moser’s career achievements include the 1977 World Championships, three time winner of Paris – Roubaix (back to back victories ’78-’80), winner of the Giro in 1984 and breaking the hour record in the same year. His 273 victories on the road put him behind Eddy Merckx (525) and Rick Van Looy (379), but ahead of Rik Van Steenbergen (270) and Roger De Vlaeminck (255). Moser was also an excellent track rider and rode the Six-Day races in the winter.
