The Deutschland Tour, founded in 1911, is the most important stage race in Germany. Historically, the race has been held in May/June, but in 2005, the race was moved to August and became part of the UCI Pro Tour. Currently, the race has four stages and is part of the UCI Europe Tour.
Spaniard David Plaza of the S.L. Benfica team won the 2000 edition of the Deutschland-Rundfahrt. Plaza also won the Mountains category, while Erik Zabel was the victor in the Points Category.
This jersey was obtained by the Horton Collection directly from the race organizer.
