This great 2000 Deutschland Tour jersey has been signed by members of the peloton on both the front and back and sleeves.
The Deutschland Tour, founded in 1911 is the most important stage race in Germany. Historically the race has been held in May/June but in 2005 the race was moved to August and became part of the UCI Pro Tour. Currently, the race has four-stages and is part of the UCI Europe Tour.
The 2000 edition of the Deutschland-Rundfahrt was won by Spaniard David Plaza of the S.L. Benfica team. Plaza also won the Mountains category while Erik Zabel was the victor in the Points Category.
This jersey was obtained by the Horton Collection directly from the race organizer.
