1960 World Championships Souvenir Scarf

$325.00

In 1960 both the Road and Track World Championships were held in Leipzig, Sachsenring, and Chemnitz’s cities in East Germany, from August 3-14. This scarf, created for the occasion, is a beautiful souvenir of the event.

Rik Van Looy won the Mens’ Road Race with André Darrigade, and Pino Cerami takes second and third.  Beryl Burton of Great Britain won the Women’s Road race with Rosa Sels and Elisabeth Kleinhaus taking the Silver and Bronze.  Notably, Beryl Burton also won a Gold Medal on the track with her win in the Women’s Individual Pursuit.

Size: 20.5 x 22.5 inches (52 x 57 cm)

Please Note:  The scarf has evidence of use  –  the most visible area of discoloration is in the white area below the world championship stripes. This is a one-of-a-kind item; please review the photos carefully to determine the condition.
