French cyclist René Le Greves had a very successful career racing professionally on the road from 1934 to 1941 and winning 16 Stages of the Tour de France. He ended his amateur career by winning a Silver Medal at the 1932 Olympics in the Team Pursuit event. He joined the Armor-Dunlop team in 1934, which changed its name to Alcyon-Dunlop in 1935. From 1937 to 1941, he raced as part of the Mercier-Hutchinson team. He was known during his career as one of the best sprinters on the Tour de France. Sadly he died in 1946 at the age of 35 in a skiing accident.
