$24.95

Stage 20 of the 1969 Tour finished on top of the legendary Puy de Dôme. This wonderful image capture Raymond Poulidor being cheered along by throngs of fans on the slopes of the climb. Poulidor finished the 198 km stage in 6th place 2′ 02″ behind stage winner Pierre Matignon.

While his nickname “the eternal second” fit the Tour de France, he had a career stacked with legendary victories: 1961 Milan–San Remo, 1963 La Flèche Wallonne, 1963 Grand Prix des Nations, 1964 Vuelta a España, Critérium International (1964, 1966, 1968, 1971–72), Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré (1966, 1969), Paris–Nice (1972–73), and 7 stage wins at the Tour de France. What a rider!
