Otto Meyer raced as a professional from 1903 to 1914. Meyer was the 1909 German Vitesse Champion.
Vitesse, also known as “sprint” in English, was a 2-3 lap track race between two riders starting from the same position on the track. A draw determined which rider started in the upper and lower positions on the track. This was a very short, but tactical race, with the winner crossing the line first.
