Munich 6 Day Jacket – New

$80.00

A fantastic new long sleeve jacket from the Munich 6 Day races.

The Six Days of Munich was first held in 1933.  The sport was banned by Hitler’s cultural branch in Germany from 1934 until 1949 and the race took another break from 1955 to 1971.  Beginning in 1972 the race was held in the Olympiahalle, a multi-purpose arena build as part of the Olympic Park for the 1972 Summer Olympics.

Generali, a race sponsor featured on this jacket, is an Italian insurance company founded in the Italian city of Trieste in 1831.

Six-Day racing is a wild whirlwind of track racing excitement with two-man teams racing over six days.  In the early days of Six-Day racing, the teams had to be on the track 24 hours a day, even taking meals while on their bikes.  Modern Six-Day events take place over six evenings with two-man teams competing in a variety of events for the overall title.
