Campagnolo & Miguel Indurain Dominating 5 Tours in a Row

This original Campagnolo promotional poster celebrates Miguel Indurain’s unprecedented five consecutive Tour de France victories from 1991 to 1995. The design features Indurain in the Maillot Jaune (Yellow Jersey) during one of his dominant performances, riding a Banesto team bike equipped with Campagnolo components. With the bold headline “Campagnolo & Miguel Indurain Dominating 5 Tours in a Row”, the poster commemorates one of the most remarkable streaks in Tour history, underscoring Campagnolo’s deep connection to elite-level performance.

Miguel Indurain was a spectacular force on a bicycle, spending 60 days in the Yellow Jersey during his Tour de France career. From 1991 to 1995, he won five consecutive Tours de France, making him the fourth rider in history to win five Tours—and the only one to do so consecutively. He also claimed back-to-back victories at the Giro d’Italia in 1992 and 1993, becoming one of only seven riders to complete the Giro–Tour double in the same season. With Lance Armstrong’s seven titles stripped, Indurain now holds the record for the most consecutive Tour wins, and shares the all-time win record (five) with Jacques Anquetil, Bernard Hinault, and Eddy Merckx.

Indurain’s extraordinary physiology and calm dominance earned him the nickname “Big Mig.” Standing 1.88 meters (6 ft 2 in) tall and weighing 80 kilograms (176 lb), he defied expectations in the high mountains and was unmatched in time trials. His talent was clear from a young age: at 18, he became the youngest rider to win the Spanish amateur national road championship; at 20, he led the Vuelta a España and won a stage of the Tour de l’Avenir, signaling the rise of one of cycling’s most iconic champions.

This poster has been archivally and professionally linen-backed. Virtually all original vintage posters of this era were viewed as temporary advertising and were printed on very thin paper. While expensive, linen backing is a conservation method used to mount, stabilize, preserve, and protect vintage posters so they can be displayed or framed without compromising value.

This poster is an original first printing, not a reproduction.
