Michael Marcussen, 1983 Track World Champion, Points Race (Amateurs)

Michael Marcussen (DAN) was a strong and successful track rider who competed from 1973 to 1991.  He was a multiple-time Danish Champion in various track events during his career, competed in the 1980 &1984 Summer Olympics, and competed in the Six Day circuit.  This is the jersey he won for the Amateur World Championship in the Points race in 1983, in Zurich Switzerland.

This jersey was purchased directly from the Augusto Gotti family and was part of the collection in the legendary Bar Augusto in Villa d’Alme, Italy.  Bar Augusto was a key host to professional and amateur cycling teams from the 1960s through the 1980s.
