Kim Andersen, of Denmark, had a successful professional career from 1980-1992 and continued in cycling after retirement as a directeur sportif.  In 1983 he was the first Dane to wear the yellow jersey and won several stages of the Tour de France.  He collected 31 wins during his career including Flèche Wallonne, stage wins at the Vuelta a España, Four Days of Dunkirk, Ronde van Nederland, Midi Libre, and Tour de Suisse.

The Tour of Denmark (also known as the Danmark Rundt or Giro di Danimarca) is a stage race held at the end of August, was founded in 1985, and is currently part of the UCI Europe Tour.

This jersey was purchased directly from the Augusto Gotti family and was part of the collection in the legendary Bar Augusto in Villa d’Alme, Italy.  Bar Augusto was a key host to professional and amateur cycling teams from the 1960s through the 1980s.
