IJsboerke – Gios Team Jersey c. 1978
$360.00
This jersey’s construction is wonderful. The blue and yellow panels are sewn together to form the stripes. The lettering is flocked on the front and back, while the sleeves are chain stitched.
IJsboerke was a Belgian professional cycling team that operated from 1973 to 1982. From 1973 to 1980, its main sponsor was the Belgian ice cream manufacturer IJsboerke. In 1981 and 1982, the team was sponsored by the juice drink brand Capri-Sun (German: Capri-Sonne). Cycling legend Walter Godefroot rode for the team from 1976 to 1979, most notably winning the 1978 Tour of Flanders during that period.
One of the team’s sub-sponsors was Koga Miyata, a bicycle manufacturer based in Heerenveen. Koga Miyata also supported amateur teams and the Tulip Computers team from 1991 to 1992.
