This authentic 1955 signed postcard features a smiling portrait of Italian cycling legend Gino Bartali, with a bold blue ink signature and date written beneath his image.

Printed during his final seasons as a professional rider, the card lists Bartali’s legendary accomplishments up to that point, including victories in the Giro d’Italia, Tour de France, and Tour de Suisse.

Bartali was the most renowned Italian cyclist before World War II, having won the Giro d’Italia two times (1936, 1937) and the Tour de France in 1938. After the war, he added one more victory in each event: the Giro d’Italia in 1946 and the Tour de France in 1948. His second Tour de France victory in 1948 gave him the largest gap between victories in the race.
