Hans Erni is known for having illustrated postage stamps, his lithographs for the Swiss Red Cross, his participation on the Olympic Committee as well as his activism. His 1939 works and first major public success was a mural titled Switzerland: “Vacation Land of the People” was commissioned and displayed for the national exhibition in Zürich.
This beautiful card was published by the Comite International Olympique in 1983. This stunning image is part of a series created for the International Olympic Committee including a mural, “Olympia – Myth and Reality” for the session hall of the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne, a gold medal in 1992, and exhibitions at several Olympic events. http://asama.org
