Charles Piard, 1902 World Amateur Vitesse Champion

Charles Piard rode as a professional from 1903 to 1911. Before going pro, he was the amateur French and World Champion in Vitesse.

After his career as a cyclist, he lived in the Saint-Mandé in the department of the Val-de-Marne and had several occupations: bike shop, hotel business, etc. He married Berthe Vanpeene in 1922 and had one daughter, Jacqueline born in 1924. He, unfortunately, killed himself on April 17, 1943, at the age of 59 in the Cochin hospital.
