At the 2010 UCI Road World Championships in Melbourne and Geelong, Norway’s Thor Hushovd claimed victory in the elite men’s road race, becoming the first Norwegian to win the world title. Giorgia Bronzini of Italy won the elite women’s road race, while Emma Pooley of Great Britain took gold in the elite women’s time trial. In the elite men’s time trial, Fabian Cancellara of Switzerland secured his fourth world title in dominant fashion.
