2002 Tour of Deutschland White Jersey – Race Director Error

This jersey is unusual since race organizers made a mistake when applying the logos.  Note that the jersey says Fassa Bortolo on the front but Mapei – Quick-Step on the back.

The Deutschland Tour, founded in 1911 is the most important stage race in Germany.  Historically the race has been held in May/June but in 2005 the race was moved to August and became part of the UCI Pro Tour.  Currently, the race has four-stages and is part of the UCI Europe Tour.

The 2002 race was held June 3-9 and consisted of 7 Stages.
