1998 World Championships

A total of 52 nations competed at the 1998 UCI Road World Championships in Valkenburg, Netherlands.  The Men’s titles were won by Oskar Camezind in the road and Abraham Olano in the time trial.  The  Men’s under 23 & Junior events provided a glimpse of future champions Ivan Basso, Thor Hushovd & Fabian Cancellara who all won gold.

The Women’s gold medals were won by Diana Zilute for the road race and Leontien Zijlaard-van Moorsel for the time trial.

This poster was acquired by The Horton Collection, directly from the race organizers, at the Worlds in 1998.
