Authentic 1991 Tour de France Participants Medal.

Fantastic early 1990’s style in the lettering.

This beautiful medal has a wonderful raised full stage by stage map on one side along with fantastic early 90’s stylized lettering on the other. The map on this medal has wonderful details.  Be sure to look closely to see the planes and trains the peloton utilized to make stage transfers.

The 1991 Tour de France was won by Spaniard Miguel Indurain, whose Banesto team also won the team classification.  1991 would go on to be the first of his 5 Tour victories.  The points classification was won by Djamolidine Abdoujaparov, despite nearly crashing in the final stage.  Claudio Chiappucci won the mountains classification.

Participant’s medals are awarded to all members of each Tour team.
