Reverse side of this coin has beautiful artwork by V.A. Ermakov of a cyclist, the Olympic emblem and Cyrillic script reading “The XXII Olympiad 1980” The coin was issued in 1978 ahead of the 1980 Olympics in Moscow.
The Obverse, with art by S.M. Ivanov, has the USSR’s emblem, the Red Star surrounding the globe, 15 turns of ribbon repressing the 15 republics of the Union and the legend, in Cyrillic script reading “U.S.S.R 10 Roubles”
Issued in 1978, has a milled edge
