Exhibition Provenance: This original vintage bicycle poster was showcased at the 2018 L’Etape California by Le Tour de France Historic Tour de France Exhibit.

This beautiful poster is from a 1952 movie about the Tour de France staring Fausto Coppi, Gino Bartali and Fiorenzo Magni.

Features gorgeous artwork with the peloton riding towards us with the Eiffel Tower in the background.

This poster has been archivally and professionally linen backed.  Virtually all original vintage posters of this era were viewed as temporary advertising and were printed on very thin paper. While expensive, linen backing is a conservation method used to mount, stabilize, preserve and protect vintage posters so they can be displayed or framed without compromising value.
