Georges Goffin aka Nemo

$24.95

“NEMO entraine par DANKAR”

This is a fantastic card with amazing details on the bicycle and stayer.

Sadly Georges Goffin may be remembered as the most persistently unsuccessful Tour de France rider in the world. He came from Liège, in French-speaking Belgium, and sometimes for reasons unknown he called himself Georges Nemo. Nemo is Latin for “no one”. Maybe that’s how he preferred to be remembered because his unfortunate record is that he started the Tour de France four times (1909, 1911, 1914 & 1922) and abandoned all of them on the first day. It’s a record not likely to be matched.  But, cheers to not giving up!  Let’s hope he saw more success on the track behind the Stayer.
