The first of the great Italian “Campionissimo”, Constante Girardengo was Italy’s dominant road rider from 1913 through the 1920’s. He was the Italian National champion an unprecedented nine times, including seven years in a row. This poster wonderfully captures the emotion of this great rider. The elegant Italian National Champion jersey, short legged shorts, and very simple bicycle harken back to a very romantic time in cycling’s history.
