About Us
Along the way, in 1988, I married my wife Shelly. Fortunately for me, she became equally addicted to the sport and is right there with me at every race. She has spent countless hours leading the charge to organize and catalog the collection. I am honored to have been entrusted as the caretaker of so many historical cycling treasures. As the collection has grown from a few hundred items to many thousand, the scope of cataloging and storage has also grown. The projection is to have at least 15,000 objects and 25,000 photographs scanned and catalogued by the end of 2013. Once complete, I hope this on-line database will be a valuable resource for racing fans, historians and journalists for many years to come. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments on the collection. As a collector, I am always interested in purchasing or trading for new items. Please contact me by telephone or email if you would like to discuss this further. All the best, The Horton Collection |

When I started down this path 25 years ago, I never imagined where this collection would ultimately take me. I have had the opportunity to attend the greatest races on earth, meet many of the legends of the sport, and get the occasional glance "behind the curtain" of this most captivating, vibrant sport. Certainly the most rewarding part of the collecting journey has been the people I have met: riders, race organizers, journalists, photographers, team personnel, fans; the list goes on.
